“After Life”
by: Natalie Diedrick$1,950.00
Natalie Diedrick is a budding bronze artist native to Arizona. She found her creative spark in clay and began sculpting at a very young age. She then won a competition in her early adolescence which began her deeper exploration of patinas under the guidance of renowned Arizona artists such as Erik Petersen, John Coleman, and Ken Rowe.
She continued to hone her sculpting skills which propelled the beginnings of a career in the lost art of wax and patina. By the time she was sixteen she began seriously sculpting for bronze. Natalie’s first bronze piece, sculpted when she was sixteen, is titled “Afterlife” (shown above right) and explores the full range of emotion regarding death: although the end of life is sad, there is beauty to be found in it. Her sculptures center around themes of the elegance found in all aspects of nature.
Soon Natalie was taken under the wing of another Arizona artist, Kristin McDonald. Being both a patina artist and bronze sculptor herself, Kristin has been tantamount in mentoring Natalie. Now eighteen, Natalie works as a patina artist at a foundry in northern Arizona alongside Kristin while also creating her own sculptures.
Exposures International Gallery of Fine Art is thrilled to feature Natalie’s bronze sculptures and looks forward to watching her collection and artistic career grow!
