“Frida”

The glass object Frida is a handcrafted light object from the Borowski special edition “Odd Birds.” With Frida, Borowski has created a glass light object that humorously conveys the unmistakable personality of the artist Frida Kahlo in the form of the popular Borowski bird, Fat Gonzo. The colorful flowers on the head reference her famous floral decoration, with which she transformed her appearance into a living work of art. The vibrant colors on the glass body also reflect the expressive color palette of her paintings, in which pain, passion, and joie de vivre are intensely intertwined. Thus, the bird figure becomes a tongue-in-cheek parody that simultaneously expresses respect and admiration for the charismatic painter.
