“Bear Hug Maquette”

“Bear Hug” is a wonderful addition to John Maisano’s collection of bear sculptures. John wanted to capture the love and companionship that we can find with others, whether it is with our partner in life, a friend or a family member. The essence of the sculpture is felt in the embrace of the two bears. Notice the tender detail of the little toes of the bears on top of one another, and with their eyes closed, cherishing the moment. It is a reminder to always treasure each moment with the ones you love and know that although they may be far away or unfortunately no longer with us, that love still exists. John Maisano’s designs of animals are influenced by his appreciation of Art Nouveau and Art Deco. He uses his carefully planned patinas to highlight the flowing details. Maisano creates graceful interpretations of animals shaped in a way that captures the life force of each animal and transforms it into something more.
