by: Ethan Deuel$4,280.00
Ethan Deuel sold his first painting at age nine, and has found himself immersed in the creation of new and unique art ever since. Exposures is proud to have represented this talented artist from the gallery’s inception.
Pablo Picasso exclaimed, “We have invented nothing” after emerging from the famous Paleolithic cave of Lascaux in France. So, what is the importance of Contemporary art?
Ethan Deuel’s answer can be found in the incredible array of forms that his works have taken. From large format wall hangings, to sculpture, and creatively sublime hand painted fountains, the religious, dramatic and artistic interpretations of human existence are still the basis for the creation of his art.
Ethan was first exposed to the painted caves of Baja, California in 1985 when he joined his father on a trip to gather information for a book. His exposure to this spellbinding imagery was the catalyst that launched Ethan Deuel’s career. Meticulously detailed sketches, as well as photographs, were composed on the numerous trips Ethan made to these, and many other caves in the Southwest.
The absorption of this extra-ordinary imagery gave Ethan the ability to create his first series of primitive cave paintings, which were based on his interpretations of the aesthetics, symbolism, and spirituality of the various culture. In Ethan’s travels throughout the American West and in Europe, he truly could feel the imaginative wizardry expressed by the transcendent artists. Through a unique technique and modern materials, Ethan feels compelled to create and offer these significant experiences to the collector. Ethan feels that Picasso’s quote, “we have invented nothing”, continues to echo throughout the art world.
