“Sundial”

Stone stands still but shadows move,
Drawing lines the elders knew.
Over mesas, through the pines,
Time was written in the light.
Every ridge, each sacred face,
Caught the fire in its grace.
Not a clock, but living signs—
The mountain taught them how to find…

To them, the sun was more than flame—
It breathed the corn, it carved the name.
Circle-dancer in the blue,
Painter of the morning dew.
No gears, no hands, just sacred space,
Where shadow walked and left its trace.
Every moment made them one,
With Earth below and blazing sun.

The sundial in the canyon’s crown,
Where silence speaks and stars look down.
They watched the sun in holy flight,
A wheel of flame, a voice of light.
To mark the days, to name the years,
With open hearts and listening ears—
The sundial, carved in stone and sky,
A gift from those who walk with fire on high.

This was time not made of glass,
But of the wind, the light, the grass.
A whispered truth in golden rays—
Creation keeps the perfect pace.
And in the dusk, they saw the sign:
The spirit sun, forever shines.

The sundial in the canyon’s crown,
Still sings where time cannot be bound.
They watched the sun in sacred flight,
A living prayer, a pulse of light.
To mark the days, to guide their ways,
With reverence deep as ancient days—
The sundial, carved in soul and sky,
Still turning where the eagles cry.
