“Mystic Canyon”

Drifting in silence… into a mystical canyon of spirits.

The cerulean blue patina upon this rocky surface appears as a deep mystical river, with its water born spirits.  Clouds of lichen above and a mystical river flowing horizontal, as well as vertically, up the canyon wall, unchecked by the laws of nature and gravity.

This place is flowing with powerful hunting magic.  The reverently etched image of a mountain lion appears here. Its highly stylized body, exaggerated whiskers, and claws, was done to honor the lion and to evoke the power of its stealth, cunning and patience. This nocturnal predator was also called “the watcher”.  Its presence here creates a strong magic of protection.  All of these attributes were needed in the hunt.

Everyone and everything benefits from natures balance in this canyon of abundance, including the ancient people that hunt in this place.  A shaman-hunter is present here, complete with a carefully crafted headdress and a spear, ready to strike with lethal speed and silence. The hunter is here to harvest what is needed for his family and the tribe.  He takes his prey with respect and reverence.  When a game animal is taken with honor and respect, its spirit is unafraid to return to earth again and the calm balance of this mystical canyon continues on.
