“Morning Buzz”

“I’m lucky enough to be a morning person, my husband would disagree. According to him, there’s nothing out there worth seeing in those delicate early hours, but that’s nonsense, so I push him out of bed anyway. In the soft morning light, it’s beautiful to watch the world wake up: the grandeur of the sunrise, or the tiny, mechanized movements of the hardest workers—the bees in freshly opened buds, doing what they do best. It’s all so big and so small, and it all inspires me to embrace my morning buzz.”

Kristin McDonald’s artwork introduces the viewer to something truly whimsical and exciting. She does not shy away from topics bringing the viewer into a dream-like world and into the unknown. Working in a fine art foundry since 2005, she gained plenty of experience and skill applying patina to bronze sculptures which she truly thinks brings them to life. Now, she brings this talent into her own work.
