“Gift Of Love”

“Love is the only positive commodity that expands as it is given away. Love not only inspires itself to be returned to the giver, but also to be extended outward in new directions. It is natural for those who know that they are loved, to love.

This sculpture is of a loving and well-loved woman. She is in a relaxed pose and gazing with satisfaction at those to which she has dedicated her effort, her being, and her very existence to the extent of whatever levels her personal situation allows. She is a symbol of motherhood, nurture, dedication and generosity of self. Her eyes are worn but loving, filled with the promise that the inexhaustible supply that is her source, will continue to abundantly overflow and be freely given.

This sculpture celebrates, and is dedicated to those who pass it on and to those who pay it forward.”

The art of Southwest native Richard Pankratz is design driven. The element of Pankratz’ design can be easily recognized, even though all of the individual elements of the pieces are radically different. Pankratz refuses to be bound by either subject or media, he feels that artists must somehow find a way to express a segment of the world in which they exist, and that as they take this journey, themes should be explored continually in multi-faceted arrays of variation.
