“Chauncey”
by: Frogman$730.00
Frogman is delighted to announce the first official release of the exciting new “Wildside Series,” a collection of sculptures portraying the actual appearance of the species. “Chauncey,” an edition variation of “Zorro,” bears the realistic markings of the red-eyed tree frog, a most recognizable species known for its vivid coloration and its large, bright red eyes. The remarkable patina clearly mimics the distinctive neon green body, orange- colored feet and blue stripes on the side. Tim Cotterill, aka “Frogman”, was born in England and left school at an early age to complete an engineering apprenticeship and this metal-directed education provided a sound base for Tim’s future career in the arts. He started sculpting parts of radical wheeled vehicles, and finally found his calling in the design of animals and birds in the 70’s and 80’s. Over 1000 original steel, bronze, and gold sculptures by Frogman have been sold worldwide; many though Sotheby’s auction house in London. He immigrated to California in 1990 and has sold his art all across America. He has now fully focused on his Frogs. He developed a love for the frog’s unique, bulgy-eyed beauty. His bronzes capture the whimsical character; the jewel-like quality, and the pure job of these little creatures. He incorporates the expression, contour and subtly of these amphibians into his work, and no two will ever look exactly the same. Variations in coloring should be expected and appreciated.
