Damien Jones began his art career after working as an engineer in the corporate world for over 15 years. Although Damien has always had an affinity for art, he found comfort working in fields such as math and science. After successfully completing his degree in engineering, Damien decided to take a pottery class in his free time. This turned out to be one of the most rewarding experiences of his life. He was amazed at how he could turn pieces of clay into beautiful and functional pieces of art.
Damien, however, continued with his corporate career working as a manufacturing engineer, eventually becoming an Industrial Designer. Throughout these years he continued to work with clay on the side but never fully committed to becoming a full-time artist.
Although successful by all accounts, Damien felt that he was not living out his true
potential. In 2005, Damien took a year to travel through Southeast Asia for spiritual exploration. He returned in 2006 enlightened and ready to pursue his lifelong passion in art.
For a long time, Damien didn’t even consider himself a sculptor. Then in 2007, he had a major artistic breakthrough, manipulating and re-forming already complicated vessels and in turn creating his first monumental sculpture. The power and presence of this piece, at 7 feet tall “literally knocked me backwards, setting me on the artistic path I’ve explored ever since”.
Since then, Damien has created dozens of monumental sculptures, including several public art installations. Damien’s engineering design background has inspired several innovations that open the door to creating massive artworks. His works are expertly crafted so that they are not only beautiful but also suited for both indoor and outdoor use. Now a prominent sculptor, Damien’s artwork is collected and displayed across the country. Exposures International is proud to be representing Damien Jones. His fountains and sculptures will be a stunning and soothing addition to any home!
