| Faith Description: | | Daniel Newman's sculpture "Faith" is a brilliant creation unlike any of his previous efforts. Here he combines two types of stone: Italian Marble and Blue Argentine Onyx. The Italian Marble is a brick-red color shot through with powdery white veins accented with touches of slate gray. There are two diamond-shaped sections of this Italian Marble, one nested inside the other, and mounted such that they can be turned on an axis to either sit in alignment or at angles. Within the center of the diamond-shaped rings of Italian Marble, rests an inverted teardrop of Blue Argentine Onyx, which also swivels. The Blue Argentine Onyx features mediterranean blues and greens. As a contrast, delicate webs of earthy brown tones intersect the Blue Argentine Onyx. The sculpture sits atop a black granite base. |
