| Summer Description: | | Daniel Newman sculpted "Summer" from Colorado White Marble, a satin-textured stone with subtle iridescence and hints of wispy, light gray veins. This sculpture is one of the first in a new series by the artist. Certain areas are etched and inlayed with Epoxy and Polychrome - a special paint designed for stone - is incorporated into the composition, creating a hybridization of media and recalling the days of the ancient Greeks and Romans who believed a sculpture was not complete until it was painted! |
