Have made the exodus from mortality.
We are saddened, we are without power
Without means to bring them back.
Always we are left with choices. We can grieve
Until the time we make our own exoduses.
Or we can celebrate the lives we have known.
We can create a proper blending,
One of grief and celebration,
And into this we can amalgamate
A spirit of gratitude for the opportunities
Of having known these wonderful people
And for having walked with them
Whatever steps we were blessed to walk.
We can perceive a heightened awareness
Of our own mortality
And recognize the priceless quality
Inherent in each and every single day.
