| | Desert Vision Writing/Poem: | Shadows grew long. The Sun wrapped himself in many colors And journeyed to spend the night With the other side of Earth.
In my shelter the fire flickered. On my finely woven mat I pulled my robe around my shoulders. I drank deeply of the Shaman's potion. My eyes closed. In my visions I knew great peace.
I was as tall as the Trees. I floated with the Clouds. And talked with the Eagles.
I ran with the White Tail Deer. I had the strength and wisdom of the Panther. I could swim with the Fishes And breathe beneath the Waters.
I was healed of all infirmities. I sang with the Birds And moved with the Winds.
Through the night The spirits of the Ancient Ones visited me. They taught me great things Revealing many mysteries and secrets.
The Sun returned. He divested himself of his many colors And grew white with pure light.
In metate I ground rocks of red and yellow. From the fire I gathered charcoal. These I mixed with my blood and my saliva. Upon the rocks I painted the speakings Of the Spirits.
Upon the walls of my shelter I painted my visions.
Now my visions are always before me. They will sing for you if you will listen.
They will sing for you if you will listen, But you must divest yourself of many things. You must divest your self of worry. You must divest your self of pride And material distractions. You must divest yourself of disbelief. You must not be too important. You must be important enough. You must be at peace with Great Spirit.
You must be still and quiet. You must listen. My painted visions will sing for you.
You will feel the magic.
