It was not always,
For we,
As you,
As all who have ever been
And who ever are,
Would err.
We would forget,
And we would miss the mark.
We would fail to make restitution,
And then it seemed that nothing -
Nothing -
Would go right,
Would be in balance,
Would be stable,
But the Great Spirit nurtured us
and directed us into the paths of truth.
He led us beside the waters of propriety.
He restored us unto our proper places.
He centered us again.
We became weak
But He restored us.
Always,
He restored us.
It was as if we were flying.
It was as if our joy would never end.
It was as if our gratitude had no boundaries.
It was as if we were in full power.
It was as if we saw our shadows
On the walls,
Made big by the fires of our councils.
It was then that our greatest danger was revealed.
It was then that we saw our most formidable enemy.
It was then that we saw our greatest strength.
They were all one.
So we humbled ourselves.
Our humility gave unto us our dignity,
Our strength,
Our proper place,
Our knowledge of peace.
It all came to us.
It all came from the Light.
It all came
